Photography For A Wedding Car Company

I rarely photograph weddings these days, but for me, it was often the details that helped tell the story. One of those details is the wedding car. Whether it’s a vintage classic with charm and nostalgia or a modern luxury model, these cars add personality and elegance to a couple’s big day.

Recently, I had the chance to photograph a fleet of wedding cars at not just one, but three wedding venues in a single day. With two vintage-style cars and one modern luxury model to shoot across the day, each location brought something unique to the table and gave the cars a different energy in every frame.

First up was Cadbury Hotel & Spa. Set in the quiet North Somerset countryside, it offered a relaxed start to the day. The morning sun was still fairly high and bright, but not yet harsh, which made cars stand out against the spring blossoms on the trees. The hotel’s mix of styles and surrounding greenery gave me clean, spacious shots with a crisp feel. Both the vintage and modern cars popped on the driveway and among the soft shadows of nearby trees.

At 12.30, I arrived at Clifton College. Here, the tone shifted completely. The college’s historic architecture, with its dramatic Gothic facades and elegant courtyards, gave the shoot a cinematic edge. The early afternoon light was strong and direct, which I worked with to create deeper shadows and bolder contrasts. The two vintage-style cars felt perfectly at home against the historic stonework, while the modern luxury car had a sharpness that stood out in the older surroundings. There’s something satisfying about combining old and new in a setting like this. It creates natural contrast, which always makes for stronger photos.

Later that afternoon, I was at Mercure Bristol North The Grange Hotel. Nestled among trees and tucked-away paths, the hotel has a more intimate, storybook feel. The early afternoon sun was just starting to mellow slightly, filtering through the trees and giving everything a warm edge without yet reaching golden hour. The leafy backdrop and gravel drive added lovely texture behind the cars. The vintage models had that timeless elegance, but it was the modern car that surprised me here. Against all the greenery and Georgian architecture, it brought just the right amount of sleek contrast.

Throughout the day, I was lucky to work with a fantastic model bride and bridesmaid, who brought loads of energy and ease to each setup. Whether standing beside the cars or stepping in and out with a natural sense of flow, they helped bring the whole scene to life. I also have to give credit to the chauffeurs on duty, who were not only smartly dressed but incredibly helpful and accommodating at every stop. Their professionalism added a real polish to the experience and made the whole shoot run smoothly.

By the end of the shoot, I’d moved through three very different spaces and lighting conditions, all in the space of a few hours. Each location gave the cars their own personality, which made the day creatively rewarding and surprisingly varied. Photographing the same vehicles in three different settings showed how much impact the environment has on how something is seen and remembered.
